Announcements
  • FACTOID"Club Innovation" Rotary Club of Fair Oaks, CA. This club started a "honeymooner group" for new members to share ideas, concerns, questions, bafflement at acronyms, and all the other things that new Rotarians experience. The group, open to members in their first two years, is a place to learn about Rotary, but the emphasis is on fellowship and FUN! (The Rotarian, Nov. 2017, pg. 17)
  • The Rotary Salvation Army bell ringing is Saturday December 2. Idell will be passing around a sign-up sheet.
  • Auction committee meetings will be held at the Clinton National Bank Mortgage and Trust bldg. on Mondays. The next meeting is November 13 at 4:00 pm. Auction chair Kathy Klahn encourages members to attend the meetings.
  • Mark your calendar: Rotary auction date is Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Eagle Point Lodge.

Topic:  Project Lead the Waya Clinton High School program partnering with local businesses to enhance the academic programs at CHS. The PLTW presentation will encompass an overview of the program and its attributes and effect on students in post-secondary.

Speakers Arica Arensdorf and Renee Snyder, Providers of Life Connections, provided insight into the mission of the organization. The goal of the organization is to make a connection with families and work with them to improve their child's skills and learn appropriate ways to manage and improve their behavior, in such areas as anger management, conflict resolution, problem solving, social skills, etc. Families participate on a voluntary basis.  Visit www.life-connections.org.

  • Saturday, December 2: Rotary Day for Salvation Army Bell Ringing. A sign-up sheet will be passed around.
  • World Bicycle Relief.  Per D6000 Governor Mike Ruby 576 bikes to date.  He will be meeting with World Bicycle Relief Staff soon to see if they are willing to offer a year-end match like they did for July.
