RI President Ian Riseley supports to give clubs more flexibility in membership and meetings. "If you want to meet every week, and it suits your club, that's great. But there are people who can't do that, for whatever reason. To me, the flexibility is really important." (excerpt from the article in July 2017 Rotarian)

Announcements
  • FACTOID: Rotary perseveres in tough times. During World War II, Rotary clubs in Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain were forced to disband. Despite the risks, many continued to meet informally, and after the war, Rotary members came together to rebuild their clubs and their countries.
  • The night at the Lumberking Ball Park is Monday, August 14 and we have our regular club meeting at noon. Gates open at 5:00 pm. Pick up tickets at table in front of the ticket office. President Rich Klahn will throw the "first pitch" at approx. 6:20 pm.
  • World Bicycle Fund: as of this date, $3,373.50 has been raised. That equals 46 bikes! President Rich thanks everybody who has contributed to the fund. A bicycle will be on display at the next meeting.
  • The Club Foundation and Fundraising Committee will meet August 14 following the club meeting at Rastrelli's to discuss finishing the Eagle Point Lodge Project.
  • Mark your calendar: no meeting September 4 - Labor Day
  • Upcoming Club Programs are being posted once a month in the Clinton Herald.

Service Projects for 2017
  • Provide food  (snack and lunch) for Habitat for Humanity volunteers on a Saturday. Date to be announced.
  • For those of you who were not at this past Monday's meeting, I introduced a District 6000 project:  World Bicycle Relief.  Please see this link, and check out the video!
These bicycles mean the world to the recipients in Zambia.  It is equivalent to you or me receiving a car or truck.  Children can travel to school, entrepreneurs can transport goods, healthcare workers can visit patients, and the list goes on and on.  This opens up a whole new world for them.  Please consider making a donation.  You can do so directly on this site, or checks can be made payable to WBR.  We can bundle checks together and do one mailing to World Bicycle Relief, which is a 501c3.
  • Interested in sharing career information with your future workforce?QC Career Connections fosters building relationships between businesses and area youth by providing opportunities for students in high school and middle schools to interact with professionals. We are currently looking to match volunteers for: Classroom presentations, Worksite tours, Job Shadows, Internships. We work in Clinton and Jackson County Please contact Kathy Pezley at kpezley@eicc.edu or 563-441-4186
